Here is a question we received: I was chased by a dog while riding my bike; as a result, I got scared and ran over a curb, damaged my bike, and hit my knee. Can I recover my damages and how?
This is a great question and here is the response from our Chicago Team of Personal Injury Attorneys:
Assuming you did not do anything to antagonize the dog to chase you and you can prove the chasing dog caused you to hit the curb, you will be able to make a claim for damages against the owner of the dog.
You can claim damages to your knee and your bike. The owner of the dog would be responsible for having not properly secured the dog to prevent the dog from chasing you.
